R-FETPV trainees are serving veterinarians nominated by their national veterinary services. The Program has trained veterinarians from across Asia and the Pacific since its first cohort in 2009.

Who guides the work
R-FETPV mentors are experienced field epidemiologists who guide trainees through their fieldwork. They come from Thailand’s veterinary and medical faculties, from national veterinary services and public health agencies, and from FAO.
Each trainee is assigned mentors for the duration of a module. The mentor:
Advises on the design of the surveillance data analysis or field investigation
Joins the online consultations held during each outbreak investigation
Reviews the written report
Gives feedback when the trainee presents findings at the in-person review sessions
Program Output
What R-FETPV trainees work on: the animal diseases and animal groups covered by their outbreak investigations, surveillance analyses and other outputs.
